Hanami

I went out to see the beautiful cherry blossoms with my family last weekend. It’s actually one of Japanese old customs that people do around this time of year called Hanami(花見). Hanami is a Japanese tradition of welcoming spring and it’s like a picnic to enjoy the cherry blossoms. People get together under the cherry blossoms and enjoy food and drinks.

Cherry blossoms usually bloom for only a week or two and it reminds us that life is short and beautiful. But on the flip side, I also feel like Hanami can be good excuse to party for some people because almost nobody ends up not seeing the cherry blossoms at the end of Hanami. lol
