In today’s english lesson, my tutor asked me “Why are you studying? Why are you living” The question brought up one of my favorite words of wisdom by a Japanese samurai named Shoin Yoshida. He said
“Radical meaning of studying is not to get knowledge, not to get a job, not to achieve fame and fortune, not to teach. It’s not for personal gain, but for personal development. We’re studying to be a better person for society, people and bright future.”
I totally agree with this.
